Getting the future wrong

Homework 25.05.21

The Wind and The Sun!

One afternoon the Wind and the Sun were having an argument, about who was stronger.

“I have uprooted huge trees and drowned millions of ships”.

“You can’t do either of those things”, said the Wind proudly.

The Sun smiled and shrugged.

“That doesn’t mean you are more powerful”, said he.

“I can cover you with clouds so that no one can see you.  You can’t do it to me,’ said the Wind.

But the Sun just smiled warmly.

I still think. “I am stronger than you,” he said calmly.

The Wind began to grumble. He didn’t like the idea of the Sun being stronger than him.

“Why don’t we a test?”

The Wind finally suggested. He whipped around looking for something to show off his strength.

“Shall we see who can knock down the most numbers of houses?” he asked.

“Let’s keep it simple. See that man over there?” asked the Sun.

The Wind looked down and saw a man walking down a road. He was whistling happily to himself and had a shawl thrown across his shoulders.

“Shall we see, who can force him off the road first?” the Wind asked.

“No, that will hurt him”, the Sun replied. “Let’s just see, who can take his shawl off.

The Wind shrugged and whipped around the sky. He huffed and puffed and made the leaves shiver in the trees. The man frowned at the sky and wrapped his shawl tightly around himself.

Thunderclouds appeared in the sky. Animals began running for shelter and the Wind began to roar. The man wrapped his shawl even tighter. Soon the thunderclouds drifted away. The Wind had blown himself out.

“I give up, I can’t do it”, panted the Wind.

He curled up on top of a cloud to catch his breath.

“Now it is my turn,” said the Sun.

He yawned lazily and stretched his rays. He seemed to grow brighter and bigger in the sky.

Soon it was as hot as a summer day.

The man looked up at the sky and wiped his sweat off his forehead.

“What strange weather we’re having today”, he said to himself. Then he took his shawl off and tucked it under his arm.

“Looks like you win”, the Wind agreed cheerfully. He clapped his hands and made the leaves on the trees rustle.

“You don’t have to knock the man down to take his shawl off”, said the Sun with the teasing smile.

They laughed together and watched the man walking down the road, again whistling happily to himself.

Why Badger and Fox live underground?

————————————————————————————-

It is said that at one time beasts and animals were tailless. Only the lion king of beasts had a tail.

It was very hard to live without a tail. In the winter they still lived somehow, but as soon as the summer came the fly and there was no escape from the mosquito. How much they called for help, there was no helper.

When the king of the beasts heard of it, he commanded that all will come and get a tail from him. King’s messengers flew around the world to call beasts. They blew money, beat drums, woke everyone up. They told everyone, except the bear. They searched a lot and finally found him sleeping in the cave. They woke him up and commanded him to go speedily and get a tail. But the bear was not in a hurry, he was walking quietly. He looked around, looking for honey. He saw blow in the three, – I have to gather strength before I reach the king. He climb the tree, inside were full of honey. Murmuring with joy, he began to take out honey with his paws and eat greedily. He ate and was satisfied, he saw that he was lost in the honey, – How do I look like a king? He went into the river, swam and lay down to sleep.

During this time the Gagans gathered near the king. The fox came first. He saw different tails, bowed to the king and said:

– Your brilliant king, I was the first to respond to your command, let me choose the tail I want.

Eh, it did not matter to the lion what tail the fox would give.

– Well, choose the one you want.

Tricky fox choose the most beautiful and long tail.

After the fox came the squirrel, he chose a beautiful tail for himself, then the mink, the badger and the other animals. The last one ran and the rabbit came

– Where are you, only one tinny tail left, – said the lion

– That is enough for me

After giving tail to everyone the king went to sleep.

It was getting dark, the bear woke up and remembered, that he must speedily go. He reached the palace, but there was no tail left, no any beast.

Angrily returned to his forest. One day he saw badger sitting on the road, admiring his tail․

– Listen, badger, you don’t need tail, give me.

– What are you asking bear brother, How can I give you this beautiful tail?, – said badger.

If you do not give it kind, I will take it by force, – said the bear, putting his paw on the badger.

I will not give it, he shouted and ran away.

A piece of the tail was left under the bears paw, the tail stuck to him and he went to eat the rest of the honey.

And the badger was not calm, it seemed to him that the bear would come somewhere and take its tail. And he dug a big nest in the ground and lived there. The wound healed, but a scar remained. One day the fox was passing by, saw the badger and asked.

– What in top is a bottleneck?

– Yes, sister fox, a bottleneck, if it weren’t for looking for food, I wouldn’t go out at night. And he told what had happened. The fox thought his tail was prettier than his tail, and out of fear went to look for a place. Finally, he dug a hole in the ground and entered.

From that day on, the fox and the fox began to live in the underground.

The Tramp

A tramp was sleeping on a park bench late at night. A man and a woman were walking past. One of them tapped him on the shoulder and asked.

“Excuse me! What’s the time?”

The tramp was very annoyed at being woken up.

“ I don’t know. I haven’t got a watch, said he angrily. And he went back to sleep.

Some time later another man was passing. He woke the tramp up and said,

“I am sorry to bother you but I wonder if you could tell me what time is it”

Again the tramp said that he didn’t know. By now he was very fed up, so he got a pen and a piece of paper and wrote I Don’t Know What Time Is on it, and went back to sleep.

Half an hour later, a policeman was passing. He read the sign, woke up the tramp and said,

“It’s 2.30, sir.”

Zarni-Parni

In Zarni-Parni cave complex you can find traditional vineyards, wineries, national games. There is a museum where samples representing the life and culture of the local population are displayed. The presence of a vineyard inside the fort proves that people lived here and were engaged in winemaking. In order to reinterpret this ancient occupation, Ruben Mesrobyan established vineyards in the area. And from the stones found on the slopes, which were supposedly the remains of a chapel, a small place of worship was built. Here you can sit, relax, listen to the sounds of nature. Inside the cave, in the pools, dripping water is collected, which as a result of the examination was recognized as suitable for drinking. The inhabitants of Haghpat say that it is known as healing water. Special glasses are set for visitors so that those who wish can drink. Inside the cave are the rare items representing the life and culture of Lori: plow, yoke, dungeon or dungeon, jugs, basins and various items used in the economy, swords. Ruben Mesrobyan has moved his personal collection of antiques here, which over the years has been supplemented exclusively with samples of local life. Archaeologists and historians familiar with the collection have stated that many of the items found here are rare in their antiquity. There is also a fireplace and seats in the outdoor balcony-observation point, where you can sit, enjoy nature and spend the night around the fire.

Geghard Monastery

Geghard Monastery, a medieval monastic complex in Armenia. It is located near Goght village of Kotayk region, in the upper stream of Azat river, on the right bank. The famous spear with which the Roman soldier pierced the side of Christ was kept here. It was brought to Armenia by the apostle Thaddeus, one of the first preachers of Christianity. Now it is in Vagharshapat, in the history museum.

The monastery complex was built in the early Middle Ages on a site that served as a sanctuary in pre-Christian times. One of these springs is still preserved inside the main porch of the monastery. According to the legend, the first church was founded at the beginning of the 4th century, when Christianity was declared the state religion in Armenia. It was known as “Ayrivank” or “Cave Monastery”. The foundation of the monastery is traditionally attributed to the first Armenian Catholicos Grigor Lusavorich, and the further prosperity to Sahak Part. Later, the monastery was declared a center of writing, a school, a music academy and a place of pilgrimage. The days of the pilgrimage to Geghard are on the holidays of Vardavar և the Transfiguration of the Virgin.

In the developed Middle Ages, after the restoration of statehood, the Arab troops invading Armenia looted and looted the monastery by the order of General Nasr. After the ruins of the 920s, the monastery was rebuilt and surrounded by a wall. The inscriptions preserved in the territory of the monastic complex date back to the 1160s, it is considered a 13th century structure. Geghard Monastery reached its peak of development after the liberation of the territories of Eastern Armenia by the Georgian Kingdom, when the Zakaryan principality was established.

Geghard Monastery is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the sights of Armenia. The main monument created in the 13th century includes the main Katoghike church, the vestibule, 2 rock-cut church, the chapel-tomb.

Karahunj

Karahunj, a prehistoric megalithic structure, a historical and cultural reserve called “Zorats Qarer Habitat”, a special state-protected area near the town of Sisian in the Syunik region of Armenia, near the M2 road In 2004, the structure was recognized as an observatory by the Armenian government. This is the opinion of a number of scientists and researchers, who also claim that the megalithic structure is an observatory. Some scientific and amateur circles reject the fact that it is an observatory, claiming that it is a mausoleum. Contradictory opinions and assertions about the meaning of the name of the megalithic structure often turn into disputes between both scientific and social circles.

His mother scolds him for walking sideways and asks him to walk forward by pointing his toes out front. The young crab responds, “I would like to walk forward mom, but I do not know how to”.

Hearing this, his mom gets up to show him how, but even she is unable to bend her knees forward. She realizes that she was being unfair, apologizes sheepishly, and sits back in the sand.
